As I listened to the Southern Miss vs. Rice game in disbelief, I couldnt help but feel extreme anger. Initially, during the first half the eagles failed from their own usual mistakes. Amidst the penalties and unbelievably absurd playcalling by their offensive coordinator, they managed to gain some momentum by scoring before the half. I felt better until Rice scored on their opening possession following halftime. When we got the ball back, our leading rusher Damion Fletcher supposedly "fumbled" the ball. In fact, he was down and let go of the ball but the ignorant referees did not blow the whistle. This was the first of several incredible misjudgements by the officiating crew. After this, Rice scored immediately making the hole we dug even deeper. What really did it though was a single call in the fourth quarter. One of our recievers caught the ball and was down before the ball came loose but they ruled it a fumble. This was critical because we were about to score and take the lead. Rice of course ended up scoring again and I was disgusted so I turned it off. However, they ended up coming within five points when the game was over. This was an extremely disappointing loss.

It sucks that your team lost. It's annoying when refs give bad calls.
I'm a huge Alabama fan, but I definitely feel your pain. It seems like refs haven't liked Bama lately. Until the Kentucky game, they were the least penalized team in the SEC. Now, it seems like they've been penalized more than ever. I hate when games are decided because of penalties.
