Thanksgiving

I actually got to have Thanksgiving early on Sunday with my dad's side of the family in Philadelphia. We got to see his cousin's new house and land which was very similar to where I spent Thanksgiving day.Well I went out to my aunt and uncle's land in Brandon for Thanksgiving and I spent the night on Wednesday after we had gotten our Christmas tree. To my surprise there were a lot of people already there. In fact there were probably more people there the night before than on Thanksgiving day. They were all my aunt's family some of which I had never met, but they were all gone by about 8:30. I was the only one who spent the night and got to catch up with my aunt and uncle on life and some of the stories of my first semester at MC. As always I had a great time with my little cousins and the rest of my family. I shot my 22 some, but unfortunately we didnt do any skeet shooting like we usually do. But when we said the prayer I was reminded how fortunate I am to have such a great family as well as many other things I am thankful for.

An Interesting Week

Well unfortunately the balloons we got for the stunt this week popped. The first one popped before either of us were able to get in. When I tried I was able to get my head in but it deflated to much for me to continue. But the my roommate was able to get completly inside the second one and it popped when attempted to move to get his head out. There was someone taping it with his phone but he deleted it because it wasnt good quality. So that was 20 something dollars down the drain, but I'm sure its a memory I won't forget. However that same day we ended up getting a 10 gallon aquarium and some fish for the room. So far 2 out of 5 have died but that was kind of expected. One we got at Petsmart looked dead to the lady who got it out for us. Then she pressed on it and he turned out to be alright for a few days but died. The other one we got at Walmart and I thought he looked sick to begin with and he didnt ever do anything. I wasnt near as mad about this as I was when I found out we couldnt leave them in the room over the holidays. Now I dont know what the reason is but I'm guessing it has to do with the fact they dont want to pay for the small amount of power the filter uses. Well I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and hope I will make the grade I need on my essay.

Inside a Balloon

Well after watching a hilarious video on Youtube called "Nerd gets trapped inside a balloon," my roommate and I decided to buy two 6 foot balloons off of Ebay. They arrived at my house Friday and we plan to attempt the stunt this week. I know that everyone is probably thinking why in the world would you want to get inside a balloon. What if you get in and it deflates and you become trapped. Well this particular video on Youtube should answer these questions. My roommate actually suggested that we get them, and yes, we are going to have someone tape it and probably put it on Youtube. Well needless to say, my parents and his parents and girlfriend did not approve of this, but we decided to have forks or some other pointed objects in our pockets just in case. Plus there will probably be several spectators from our hall watching, although some might just walk off if we did become trapped.(Lol) It will take a while to inflate so we are going to use air mattress pumps. So hopefully we will be able to accomplish our goal of getting inside without them popping and put the video on Youtube.

Mixed feelings

Well as we watched the election Tuesday, I as well as most everyone on my hall was very disappointed. One of the main things that upset me is that so many of the people who voted for Obama, did not know anything about him. In fact, there was an experiment done in New York in which people who were going to vote for him were interviewed. The interviewer would ask questions like "what do you think about his vice president choice, Sarah Palin." They would then respond " Oh yeah, I like her too." This just shows how little his supporters even know about him. I dont like talking about my political views but this election made me feel like I had to. All I can do is just know that regardless of what happens, it is God's will. I dont care who the president is as long as they make the right decisions.

Undefeated

As I said in my last blog entry, my favorite NFL team is the Tennessee Titans. Well they came through and pleased me once again by beating the Packers in overtime. They are now 8 and 0, and if they end up in the Super Bowl I am going to try my best to go myself. I hope to atleast go to maybe a playoff game if not. This is the first time they have been unbeaten since the franchise started. Although they went to the Superbowl their first season, they havent done well the past couple of years until now. After there win over their rivals the Colts on Monday night, they started getting some well deserved credibility. This just shows how much being undefeated means for a team. My dream would be for them to be undefeated the whole season and for me to see them play in the Super Bowl in Tampa.

Redemption

Well after Southern Miss's devastating and pathetic loss to Memphis last week I had decided I was so disgusted I would not watch or listen to them the rest of the year, despite I think the problem is coaching and not players. However, I did watch the homecoming game yesterday against UAB. I was suprisingly pleased at their 70-14 stomping of the blazers. They broke several records but most importantly slightly redeemed themselves for the horrible losing streak. Also, despite there horrible season, they still have a chance to go to a bowl game but must win all of their remaining games. However, I am not very concerned about them because my favorite NFL team remains the only undefeated team in the NFL: the Tennessee Titans.
